To create an assessment:
- Use the left navigation to navigate to either Dashboard or Assess.
- Click the Create Assessment or Create button.
- Choose the category for the assessment. Categories describe different business outcomes that you might want to achieve, and determine which knowledge areas will be included in your assessment, and what the target maturity level in each will be. For the DMMA, Unlock the power of our data is a good place to start as it covers all areas and sets a balanced, mature target.
- Name your assessment – choose a name that will help you easily identify the assessment in a set of cards later. We recommend including a time indicator (e.g. “2024 Q1”) and a scope (e.g. “Organization-wide”, or “Finance”).
- Select whether the assessment covers your whole organization or just a part, for example a specific team, geography, or division. This doesn’t affect the outcome in any way, but we ask for this to help gain wider insights.
- You can optionally assign the entire assessment to a colleague, or assign individual knowledge areas to colleagues at this point. You can assign and reassign knowledge areas later too.
- When you’re happy with your selections, click Create. This will then take you to your new assessment, and you can start collating the answers – see Collating assessment data.
